Energetics of chemical or chemical thermodynamics is part of chemistry that studies the energy changes that accompany a process or reaction. One important aspect studied in chemical thermodynamics adala determination of the heat absorbed or released during the reaction. Heat is defined as thermal energy possessed by a substance.
